The Plant:
Our Black Pepper Flakes come from the Piper nigrum plant, a tropical vine native to Sri Lanka. The plant is renowned for its rich aromatic profile, featuring floral and citrus notes, along with its trademark pungency.
The Process:
- Growing:
Our black pepper plants are grown organically in the ideal climate of Sri Lanka. We abstain from using synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, ensuring that the pepper is as natural as it can be. - Harvesting:
The pepper berries are hand-picked at the peak of their maturity. This careful selection process ensures that the pepper retains its rich aroma and pungency. - Grinding:
After sun-drying, the black pepper seeds are ground into flakes. This form allows for a quick release of flavor and aroma when used in cooking. - Packaging:
The Black Pepper Flakes undergo a stringent quality check before being sustainably packaged. This ensures that you receive a product that is not only of high quality but also retains its freshness and robust flavor.
